LOUISVILLE, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) has been requested by Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 5:30 P.M. EST on Sunday, February 19, 2023, on Chenault Road in Louisville.
At the request of the LMPD, KSP’s Critical Incident Response Team arrived on the scene and began an investigation into the incident.
A female subject was transported from the scene to a local hospital for treatment.
No officers or other members of the community were injured during the incident.
KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local law enforcement agencies. KSP is committed to being transparent while ensuring the integrity of the investigation. To protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation, it is KSP standard operating procedure not to release specific details until vital witnesses have been interviewed and pertinent facts gathered.
