FEBRUARY WEEKEND "HAND IN THE COOKIE JAR" THIEVING SPREE FOILED BY PROPERTY OWNER IN JACKSON COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA

JACKSON COUNTY, WV - The Jackson County, WV Sheriff's Department is reporting the arrest of an individual after being caught by a property owner breaking into a camping RV. When confronted by the same property owner, the suspect fled on foot carrying stolen items with him as he ran.

Deputies arrived a short time later and continued the pursuit.

The accused burglary suspect is identified as Chad Lewis Casto, age 47 of Ripley

Upon locating Casto in the neighborhood, orders to surrender were ignored and he continued to run.

ENTER: K-9 Hak, the pursuit ended and Casto was taken into custody.

This individual was lodged in the South Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility (SCRJ) after receiving immediate and appropriate medical care.

Further investigation revealed that Casto had burglarized Ten (10) different locations in a thieving spree over the weekend.
