KENTUCKY SECRETARY OF STATE ADAMS THANKS HOUSE FOR PASSAGE OF SB 79

Safe at Home Act Heads to Governor

FRANKFORT, KY (March 30, 2023) – Secretary of State Michael Adams released the following statement on the House’s unanimous passage of Senate Bill 79, the Safe at Home Act, aimed at protecting victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other sexual offenses.

“I applaud the House for its unanimous passage of the Safe at Home Act,” Adams said. “I urge Governor Beshear to sign this bill into law to provide critical protections to victims of domestic violence.”

Senate Bill 79, sponsored by Sen. Julie Raque Adams, R-Louisville, expands the Secretary of State’s Address Confidentiality Program by allowing victims of domestic violence to participate in the program without a judicial protective order, and masks their addresses on publicly available government records beyond just the voter rolls.
