DRIVER FOUND WITH METHAMPHETAMINE DURING TRAFFIC CRASH INVESTIGATION IN LAUREL COUNTY, KENTUCKY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen along with Detective Jake Miller arrested Marcus Woods age 26 of Johnson Rd., London on Saturday afternoon June 3, 2023 at approximately 5:03 PM.

The arrest occurred on Johnson Road at Old Way Road approximately 4 miles east of London after LSO deputies were dispatched to a noninjury traffic crash there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies observed a vehicle in the ditch and conducted an investigation on the driver who was determined to be under the influence.

In addition, they learned that the driver was operating on a suspended license.

During arrest, the driver, Marcus S. Woods, who admitted using Meth earlier, was found in possession of suspected Methamphetamine.

Marcus Woods was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
