ARREST: Motorcycle Rider Occupying Both Lanes of Traffic Leads Police on Pursuit in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Byron Grimes And Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed arrested Lincoln Isaiah Hamblin age 22 of Slate Lick Rd., London on Sunday evening September 10, 2023 at approximately 5:40 PM.

The arrest occurred on E. Pittsburg Church Rd., approximately 2 miles north of London after Deputy Grimes observed a motorcycle being operated in a reckless manner headed north on U.S. 25 from the Hal Rogers Parkway intersection in London.

Deputy Grimes attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle however it failed to stop traveling onto old Richmond Road, onto Slate lick Road, onto Highway 30, and finally onto E. Pittsburgh Church Rd.

Deputy Grimes noted that the vehicle was occupying both lanes of traffic.

Deputy Daniel Reed arrived at the scene of the pursuit causing it to conclude and the suspect stopping on E. Pittsburg Church Rd.

The motorcycle driver stated that he ran from the police because he did not have a registration plate on his bike.

Lincoln Isaiah Hamblin was charged with:

  • Fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle
  • Two counts of wanton endangerment – first-degree
  • Reckless driving
  • Careless driving
  • Registration violations

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

The motorcycle was identified as a green colored Kawasaki DX 650.
