ADOLPHUS, KY — The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been requested by KSP Post 3, Bowling Green to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at approximately 5:10 p.m. CST on New Buck Creek Road in Allen County.
The officers were attempting to locate a subject involved in a vehicle pursuit in Simpson County at approximately 12:30 a.m. CST on Saturday, October 7th., 2023.
The CIRT arrived on the scene and began an investigation into the incident.
A male subject was pronounced deceased at the the scene by the Allen County Coroner.
A Simpson County Sheriff’s Deputy was transported to a hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries, and is in stable condition.
KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
