Arrest after a Wanted Suspect with Drugs located Laid Back on Train Tracks off Highway 1223 in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed arrested Buddy Vaughn age 28 of Middlesboro, KY on Saturday afternoon November 4, 2023 at approximately 3:19 PM.

The arrest occurred off KY 1223 and railroad tracks there after Deputy Reed was dispatched to a complaint of a male subject allegedly passed out on the train tracks off Highway 1223 in southern Laurel County.

Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Reed located the male suspect laid back on the tracks.

An investigation was conducted and the suspect was determined to be under the influence.

During arrest this individual was found in possession of:

  • Suspected Methamphetamine
  • Oxycodone

In addition, it was determined that this individual was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Buddy Vaughn was charged with:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree – Oxycodone
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine

In addition, this subject was charged on a Bell County District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:

  • Failure to appear in court

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
