MANCHESTER MAYOR STEVE COLLINS' STATEMENT REGARDING RECENT KLC TRAINING AWARDS RECEIVED BY CITY OFFICIALS IN MANCHESTER, KENTUCKY

LEXINGTON, KY – “We are proud of all of our dedicated officials who work hard to better prepare themselves to serve the citizens of Manchester,” Mayor Steve Collins said. “We appreciate the partnership we have with KLC. The training opportunities they provide help our city be its best.”

The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) presented awards to the Manchester City Officials named below.

Manchester Councilmember Traci White:

  • Level II Excellence in City Governance and Level III Master of City Governance awards

Councilmember Charles Weaver:

  • Level I Achievement in City Governance and Level II Excellence in City Governance awards

Councilmember Dorothy Sizemore:

  • A Level I Achievement in City Governance award

Planning and Zoning Board member Ethel Martin:

  • A Level I Achievement in City Governance award

The Kentucky League of Cities administers the City Officials Training Center, a voluntary education program. City officials can complete education levels by attending KLC events and submitting outside educational credit from other municipal training.

“KLC is committed to helping local leaders continuously learn and grow,” said KLC Executive Director|CEO James D. Chaney. “These awards, achieved through the KLC City Officials Training Center program, are a testament to the fact that our city officials are dedicated to ongoing education and a greater level of community service.”

The Level I Achievement in City Governance award requires a city official to attend a minimum of 29 hours of approved training with one additional hour of ethics training. The Level II Excellence in City Governance award requires a city official to attend a minimum of 58 hours of approved training with two additional hours of ethics training. The Level III Master of City Governance award requires a city official to attend a minimum of 87 hours of approved training with three additional hours of ethics training.
