Suspect Captured after Kentucky State Police Special Response Team use Tactical Procedure to End Armed Standoff in Madison, County

BEREA, KY - Earlier this month, on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at around 1:30 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to Fentress Lane in reference to a domestic complaint.

The initial investigation indicates Misti Robertson of Richmond, KY, armed with handguns went to a family members residence on Fentress Lane in Berea.

Robertson entered the residence uninvited and assaulted a family member that attempted to disarm her.

Warrants were obtained for Robertson who refused to exit the house on Fentress Lane.

After many hours of unsuccessful attempts to negotiate with the suspect, the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team introduced CS gas (tear gas) into the residence.

Misti Robertson then exited the home and was captured.

She was taken to the Berea hospital were she was treated and released.

Misti Robertson, 46 years old of Richmond, KY was charged with:

  • Burglary 1st Degree
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (2 counts)
  • Assault 4th Degree
  • Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree (2 counts)
  • Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree

This individual was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.

The case remains under investigation by Madison County Sheriff’s Office Detective Donovan Nolan.
