Driver of a Suburban Weaving on Roadway Charged after K-9 Alerts to Presence of Narcotics in Vehicle Following Traffic Stop in Laurel County, KY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9 Deputy Brian France arrested Mark Davidson age 59 of Gamecock Rd., East Bernstadt on Wednesday night December 27, 2023 at approximately 10:37 PM.

The arrest occurred on Glenview Road, approximately 3 miles north west of London following a traffic stop conducted on a black suburban that was weaving on the roadway.

During the stop, Deputy France noted detecting the odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle.

An investigation was conducted on the driver as K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with his K-9 "Fox" arrived at the traffic stop.

"Fox" was deployed and conducted a walk around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of Narcotics in the vehicle.

During the subsequent search the driver was found in possession of suspected Methamphetamine, and a glass pipe containing drug residue.

Mark Davidson was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
