KENTUCKY STATE POLICE CRUISER STRUCK BY SEMI-TRAILER TRUCK ON WESTERN KENTUCKY PARKWAY

CLARKSON, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that a KSP cruiser was struck by a commercial motor vehicle while a KSP trooper was investigating an injury collision. 

On Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at approximately 7:14 A.M. CDT, KSP Post 4 Trooper Scott Wheatley was investigating a single-vehicle injury collision on the westbound side of the Western Kentucky Parkway (WK) at the 113 mile marker in Grayson County.

While Trooper Wheatley was outside his vehicle investigating the prior collision, a semi-trailer truck, also traveling westbound, struck his parked cruiser in the emergency lane with its emergency lights activated.

Trooper Wheatley’s cruiser sustained significant damage, while the semi suffered minor damage. 

Trooper Wheatley and the semi’s driver were not injured, and the westbound traffic on the WK was not affected.

KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Grayson Co. EMS.
