DUI ARREST AFTER OFFICER RESPONDS TO HAWK CREEK ROAD AREA OF LONDON, KY IN REFERENCE TO A POSSIBLE INTOXICATED DRIVER

LONDON, KY - The London Police Department reports that on Sunday, January 2024 at approximately 2:04 A.M., Officer Kendric Smith arrested Benjamin J. Nantz, age 19 of London, KY.

London PD logo 200Officer Smith responded to the area of Hawk Creek Road, in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. Officer Smith located a vehicle at Ott's Grocery matching the description given.

Officer Smith made contact with the operator, Nantz, and noted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Nantz.

Officer Smith had Nantz step out of the vehicle and complete Standard Field Sobriety Tests, and upon completion, determined that he was under the influence and placed under arrest without incident.

Benjamin J. Nantz was charged with:

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence Alcohol - 1st Offense.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
