LONDON PD OFFICER RENDERS LIFESAVING MEDICAL ASSISTANCE TO TEENAGER IN LAUREL COUNTY, KENTUCKY

LONDON, KY - The London Police Department reports that on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at approximately 7:43 P.M., Corporal Webb was on routine patrol when he became aware of a medical emergency on Moriah Church Road.

London PD logo 200Corporal Webb learned that an 18-year-old male had inadvertently cut his leg and was advised it had potentially cut an artery. Corporal Webb responded and assessed the scene.

He found that bystanders had applied a tourniquet, but it had not been properly secured causing the blood to continue to flow.

Corporal Webb then reapplied the tourniquet and was able to get the blood to stop until Laurel County Ambulance Service could take over.

The teenager was later flown out to the University of Kentucky Hospital where he was treated and is expected to make a full recovery.

Corporal Webb was assisted on scene by Deputy Austyn Weddle of the Laurel County Sheriff's Office and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.
