Fugitive Wanted in North Carolina Arrested in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen along with Deputy Tommy Houston and Deputy Cyruss McVey arrested Rodney Hart Merida age 22 of East Bernstadt on Friday afternoon October 2, 2024 at approximately 3:56 PM.

LSO logo Blackand Gold 200The arrest occurred off Jaw Road, approximately 6 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a trespass complaint there.

Allegedly, Merida was beating on windows of the residence attempting to gain entry.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies conducted an investigation and determined that this individual was trespassing there.

In addition, it was also learned that this individual was a fugitive from North Carolina.

Rodney Merida was charged with:

  • Criminal trespassing – third-degree
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree

In addition, this subject was charged with being a fugitive from North Carolina wanted on:

  • A parole violation warrant

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
