ARREST OF FEMALE IN RED HOODIE DURING INVESTIGATION OF DRUG COMPLAINT AT A STORE ON U.S. 25 IN LAUREL COUNTY, KY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Nate Bishop arrested Helen Boggs age 40 on Saturday evening February 17, 2024 at approximately 5:19 PM.

LSO logo Blackand Gold 200The arrest occurred on US 25 approximately 8 miles South of London after Deputy Bishop was dispatched to a complaint of a female subject wearing a red hoodie offering drugs to customers in a business there.

As Deputy Bishop responded to the scene, he was further advised that the female subject had left the store walking southbound on Highway 25.

When Deputy Bishop arrived in the vicinity of the complaint, he located the suspect reported to be wearing a red hoodie and conducted an investigation.

Deputy Bishop noted that the female subject attempted to throw a clear plastic baggie into a brush thicket there.

That plastic baggie was located and found to contain gabapentin that the suspect did not have a prescription for.

In addition, the suspect was determined to be under the influence.

Helen Boggs was charged with:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Possession of a controlled substance – second-degree
  • Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
