DRUG SEIZURE: TWO HARLAN MEN ARRESTED DURING COMPLAINT INVESTIGATION IN POWELL COUNTY, KENTUCKY

STANTON, KY - The Stanton Police Department reports that on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024, Officer Ryan Smith received a complaint of two male individuals at the Stanton Dairy Queen acting intoxicated.

Officer Smith responded to the scene and after a brief investigation, located two men in possession of drugs and arrested the pair.

The arrested individuals were identified as 46 year-old James Reynolds of Harlan and 59 year-old Tony Haliburnt, also of Harlan.

Both were transported to the Powell County Detention Center.

James Reynolds was charged with:

  • Public Intoxication-Controlled Substances
  • Aggravated Trafficking in Controlled Substances(> 28 grams of Fentanyl
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree

Tony Haliburnt was charged with:

  • Public Intoxication-Controlled Substances
  • Possession of Controlled Substances 1st - Fentanyl/Carafentayl

Both individuals were lodged into the Powell County Detention Center.
