DEMARCUS JOHNSON (Laurel County Correctional Center)

Flint, Michigan Man with Drug Delivery Allegedly for Corbin, Kentucky Intercepted by Laurel County “Drug Interdiction” Task Force Officers

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root, London City Police Chief Chuck Johnson and Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith announce that: Officers with the Laurel County “Drug Interdiction” Task Force arrested one individual after investigators received information regarding a large quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl being delivered from Knoxville, Tennessee to Corbin, Kentucky.

During the investigation on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at approximately 12:40 A.M. on West Cumberland Gap Parkway a traffic stop was conducted on a 2021 Dodge charger resulting in the seizure of more than 92 grams of methamphetamine and more than 29 grams of fentanyl.

The arrested individual was identified as Demarcus D. Johnson age 29 of Flint, Michigan.

Demarcus D. Johnson was charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense – fentanyl
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
