OVER AN OUNCE OF SUSPECTED METH LOCATED ON INTRUDER SHOT BY HOMEOWNER IN MONTICELLO, KENTUCKY

MONTICELLO, KY - On Sunday morning March 24, 2024 at around 2:00 AM, Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a call for assistance from the Monticello Police Department requesting assistance with a shooting incident on Frisby Street in Wayne County.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Tracy L. Kidd, age 56 of Monticello KY, gained entry into a residence which startled the homeowner. The homeowner fired one round towards Kidd striking him. The homeowner then called Wayne County 911.

Upon the arrival of Wayne County EMS, approximately 40 grams of suspected Methamphetamine was located on Kidd's person.

Tracy Kidd was flown by Air Evac to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington where he is in critical condition.

KSP Trooper Ben Allen is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Kentucky State Police Post 11 personnel, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Monticello Police Department, Wayne County EMS.

This incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London.
