Raleigh Campbell (Clay County Detention Center)

DRIVER CAPTURED AFTER CRASHING REPORTED STOLEN VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY 11 DURING PURSUIT IN CLAY COUNTY, KENTUCKY

MANCHESTER, KY - Manchester Police Department (MPD), Chief Jeff Couch is reporting that on April 22, 2024, MPD Officer D. Carr observed an S-10 truck that had been reported stolen.

When Officer Carr attempted to perform a traffic stop on the truck, the driver refused to stop.

After failure of the S-10 to stop, an 8 mile pursuit of the fleeing truck ensued before the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway on North Highway 11.

The driver was identified as: Raleigh Campbell, age 40 of Manchester, KY.

After apprehension, Campbell was arrested and transported to the Clay County Detention Center.

Raleigh Campbell is facing numerous charges including:

  • SPEEDING 26 MPH OR > SPEED LIMIT
  • IMPROPER PASSING
  • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE)
  • WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER
  • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (ON FOOT)
  • RESISTING ARREST
  • RECKLESS DRIVING
  • OPERATING ON SUS OR REV OPER LICENSE,
  • RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $1,000 < $10,000

This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.

Assisting Officer Carr in the pursuit was Chief Couch, Asst. Chief Dodson, Lt Garrison, Sheriff Patrick Robinson and several Clay County Sheriff's deputies.
