FATAL CRASH ON ON HIGHWAY 26 IN BAKER COUNTY, OREGON

BAKER COUNTY, OR (December 12, 2021) - The Oregon State Police is reporting that on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at approximately 11:38 A.M., OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 26 near milepost 202. 

Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound Ford Excursion, operated by Maureen Welsh (69) of Harper, failed to negotiate a corner, left the roadway and impacted a tree. 

Welsh sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

Highway 26 was partially closed for 7 hours. 

OSP was assisted by Grant County Sheriff’s Office, John Day Ambulance and ODOT.
