Kentucky State Police Serve Arrest Warrants in Boyle County after Stand-Off

(Junction City, KY)—On Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10:29 am. EST the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted by the Boyle County 911 who were requesting assistance with a barricaded suspect. Boyle County Adult Protective Services responded to 8050 KY Hwy 37 to check the welfare of two individuals at the residence.

Adult Protective Services workers requested that the Boyle County Sheriff’s Department respond after the two residents became uncooperative. When deputies responded to the scene one of the residents allegedly brandished a firearm and refused to follow officer’s commands and retreated back into the residence.

Members of the Kentucky State Police, Special Response Team arrived on scene and communicated with the individuals to exit the residence. When they did not comply non-lethal gas rounds were deployed into the home. The two individuals exited the home and were taken into custody.

Shirley Coffman, 47 years old of Junction City, was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree and Terroristic Threatening in the Third Degree.

James Wesley Coffman, 59 years old of Junction City, was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree and Terroristic Threatening in the Third Degree.

The case is still under investigation by Trooper Frank Thornberry. He was assisted at the scene by other KSP personnel, the Boyle County Sheriff’s Department, the Danville Police Department, Boyle County EMS and Boyle County Emergency Management.
