MANCHESTER, KY MAN ARRESTED FOR DUI, DRUGS AT SAFETY CHECKPOINT IN LAUREL CO.

LONDON, KY --Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed arrested Vincent Edward King, age 57, of Manchester on Monday night July 7, 2025 at approximately 8:09 PM.

The arrest occurred on Johnson Road approximately 11 miles east of London at a traffic safety checkpoint after deputies observed a black Chevrolet Cavalier approaching the traffic safety checkpoint swerving into the opposite lane of travel.

When the vehicle came to a stop deputy Reed observed a glass pipe the driver had attempted to destroy with his foot apparently causing him to swerve on the roadway. The driver, identified as Vincent Edward King, age 57, of Manchester, KY stated that he had smoked meth earlier in the day. An investigation was conducted on the King, who was determined to be under the influence and taken into custody.

Vincent King was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Reckless driving
  • Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license
  • Failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
  • Tampering with physical evidence

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
