Clay County man along with a Georgia man jailed on drug charge in Laurel County

 

 

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Jason Back and Detective James Sizemore arrested two individuals at a motel near Corbin in southern Laurel County while conducting a drug investigation at a room there, on Thursday afternoon February 12, 2015 at approximately 3:55 P.M.

The arrests were the result of an investigation conducted by the Sheriff's office after three subjects were located in a room where 1.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine was discovered.

In addition, deputies located three $20 bills, one $50 bill. and two 1 dollar bills that had been altered in order to defraud cash accepting machines. In addition, eight other devices were located in the room to defraud cash accepting machines.

Deputies arrested Bradley Roberts age 42 of Forest Park, Georgia charged with possession of a controlled substance first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine and possession of burglary tools.

Deputies also learned that there was an active non-extradition warrant from another state for theft from vending and cash accepting machines on Roberts.

Also arrested was Stephen Jewell age 31 of Hwy 687, Manchester charged with possession of a controlled substance first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine. In addition, this subject was charged on a Clay County bench warrant of arrest for drug court violation regarding a charge of possession of a controlled substance first-degree first offense.

Both subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Assisting on the investigation and arrests were Sgt. Robbie Grimes, Deputy Larry Parrott, Deputy John Inman, and Deputy Shawn Boroviak.

Also assisting was KSP/CVE Officer Landry Collett.
