Man charged with assault tells police he punched wife with his fists several times in the face

 

 

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shawn Jackson arrested a Corbin man early Saturday morning February 28, 2015 at approximately 6:05 A.M.

Arrested was Joseph Bryant age 26 Of Adkins Street, Corbin, KY.

The arrest occurred off US 25W approximately 10 miles south of London after Deputy Jackson was dispatched to a domestic violence complaint.

Upon arrival at the scene on Adkins Street, Deputy Jackson observed the female victim to have numerous facial injuries including swelling of the right jaw, her right eye swelled shut, one of her teeth had been knocked loose and her nose was bleeding and she had a large laceration on her right knee.

Deputy Jackson conducted an investigation learning that the victim's husband had left the scene prior to emergency services arrival. The female victim was treated at the scene and transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.

While Deputy Jackson was on the scene, he was advised that Corbin City Police Officer Wade Mitchell and Corbin City Police Officer Mike Bishop had detained the male subject near the county line.

Joseph Bryant was charged with assault – fourth degree – domestic violence and alcohol intoxication in a public place. – This subject stated that he got mad at the female and punched her with his fists several times in the face.

Joseph Bryant was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
