Man wanted on warrant regarding shoplifting nabbed at Walmart allegedly stealing a jumbo wallet

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Brandon Broughton arrested David Wells age 37 of Meadow Creek Drive, Rockhold, KY on Saturday afternoon March 7, 2015 at approximately 2:01 P.M..

The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject.

When Deputy Broughton arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that this subject had allegedly been observed opening up a package containing a Ford dome kit and concealing it in his jacket and opened a package containing a jumbo wallet and concealed it in his pants pocket value over $35 and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.

David Wells was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting. In addition the subject was wanted on a Shelby County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a charge of theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
