KSP Charges Grant Co. Man With Distribution Of Child Pornography

(Dry Ridge, Ky.)— On March 19, 2015, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by Post-6 Dry Ridge, arrested Justin T. Hamilton, 27, for charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Hamilton was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation which began in December 2014. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect showing images of child sexual exploitation online, including videos of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Hamilton’s residence on March 19, 2015. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Hamilton is currently charged with 11 counts of possession and nine counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Both charges are Class D Felonies, with each count punishable by one to five years in prison. Hamilton was lodged in the Grant County Detention Center.
