Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that deputy Larry Parrott arrested Darren Simpson age 43 of Balsinger St., London on Sunday afternoon April 5, 2015 at approximately 3:27 P.M..
The arrest occurred on Robinson Creek Road, approximately 11 miles south of London after this subject allegedly rounded a curve in his maroon colored Chevrolet Silverado at an excessive speed, lost control and struck a bridge.
When Deputy Parrott arrived at this location and conducted an investigation on the driver, he determined the driver to be under the influence.
Darren Simpson was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; reckless driving; failure of owner to maintain required insurance first offense; and other traffic violations.
Darren Simpson was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
