Knife assault complaint - Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Larry Parrott arrested Michael Felts age 36 of Piney Hill Road, Corbin on Wednesday night April 8, 2015 at approximately 11:45 P.M..

The arrest occurred off Piney Hill Road, approximately 11 miles south of London after officers were dispatched to a complaint received from Corbin Manor Apartments stating that a male subject there had been assaulted with a knife.

When officers arrived at the scene they noted that the victim had a large laceration on the left side of his face. The victim was identified as Daniel Boggs age 22 no address and was transported from the scene by Ambulance Inc. Laurel County and transferred to UK Med Center for treatment of his injuries.

Officers conducted an investigation and learned there had been an altercation between Michael Felts and Daniel Boggs.

Officers arrested Michael Felts charging him with assault – first-degree and alcohol intoxication in a public place, and he was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

This subject was also charged on an outstanding Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court.

Circumstances of the altercation remain under investigation by Deputy Larry Parrott.

Assisting at the scene for Laurel County Sheriff's office were: Sgt. Brett Reeves , Deputy Tyler Morris, and Deputy Rick Cloyd and for Kentucky State police – Trooper Chris Saunders.

Also assisting was Constable Chris Webb.
