Both a KY temporary tag and a KY license plate on vehicle with open can of beer - Laurel County, KY

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested Steven Lane age 50 Of Lane Dr., Gray, KY on Thursday night May 7, 2015 at approximately 8:20 PM.

The arrest occurred on Beatty Avenue, approximately 11 miles south of London after Deputy Cloyd conducted a traffic stop on a white colored Chevrolet Monte Carlo that had both a Kentucky temporary tag on the vehicle along with a Kentucky license plate.

During the traffic stop Deputy Cloyd observed an open can of beer in the vehicle and the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver.

Deputy Cloyd also determined that the driver was operating on a Kentucky suspended driver's license.

An investigation was conducted on the driver determining that he was under the influence.

Steven Lane was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence third offense in five years; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited; operating on suspended or revoked operators license; failure to produce insurance card; and improper registration plate.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Knox County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
