Alleged shoplifter flees Dollar General on KY 229 in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Larry Parrott arrested Cassandra Faircloth Age 30 of Old Whitley Rd., London on Thursday night May 7, 2015 at approximately 9:01 PM.

The arrest occurred on Laurel River Church road, approximately 6 miles east of London while Deputy Parrott was investigating an alleged shoplifting incident that had occurred at the Dollar General store on KY 229 where a female suspect had fled the store.

Deputy Parrott viewed the store video and got the license tag information off the suspect vehicle.

While Deputy Parrott was in the vicinity he observed this female subject in the same vehicle involved in the earlier incident and conducted a traffic stop on that vehicle – a red GM Sierra.

Deputy Parrott noted symptoms of apparent drug use on the driver and conducted an investigation and determined that she was under the influence.

This subject admitted to taking hydrocodone and smoking marijuana earlier.

Cassandra Faircloth was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; operating on suspended or revoked operators license; no registration plates; failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance – first offense; and other traffic offenses.

Cassandra Faircloth was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
