Update (Additional Arrests Made) - KSP Conducts Death Investigation in Clark County

(Winchester, KY) – There have been additional arrests made as a result of an ongoing murder investigation by the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post.

Kristi A. Mattingly, 45 years old of Richmond, was arrested this morning by KSP and has been charged with Murder and Attempted Murder.  Mattingly has been lodged in the Clark County Detention Center.

Kirk A. Garrett, 47 years old of Richmond, and Christopher W. Coleman, 35 years old of Richmond, were located and arrested last night by Columbus Police Department, following a tip about their possible location.  They have been lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center in Ohio, and are awaiting extradition back to Kentucky.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Michael Keeton.

(Winchester, KY) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post has arrested one man as a result of an ongoing investigation into the death of Roy E. Combs.

Don E. Attaway, 46 years old of Richmond, was arrested earlier today and has been lodged in the Clark County Detention Center charged with Murder.  It is alleged that Attaway was involved with the altercation that resulted in the death of Roy Combs.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Michael Keeton.

(Winchester, KY) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called just before 12:30 a.m. EDT today, following a fight that left one man dead and another man injured off of Athens-Boonesboro Road in Clark County.  Investigators from KSP Post 7, Clark County Coroner’s Office, and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, and located Roy E. Combs, 25 years old of Richmond, deceased at the scene.

The initial investigation indicates that Roy Combs died as a result of a gunshot wound, following an altercation.  The initial investigation also indicates that one other person sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the same altercation.  The events that led to the shooting are still under investigation.
There have not been any arrests made and the Kentucky State Police is asking anyone that saw any suspicious activity in the area or with any information to call (859) 623-2404 or toll free at (800) 222-5555.
