Man wanted on outstanding warrants arrested at traffic stop in Laurel County, KY

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Brandon Broughton along with Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested Ricky Vaughn age 25 of Corbin Manor Apartments, Corbin, KY on Wednesday evening May 13, 2015 at approximately 5:45 P.M.

The arrest occurred on Beatty Avenue, approximately 11 miles south of London after deputies conducted a traffic stop on a yellow Chevrolet Cobalt regarding persons in the vehicle not wearing seatbelts.

This subject, a passenger in the vehicle, gave deputies a false name, false date of birth, and a false Social Security number.

Deputies were finally able to get the correct information from this subject and learned that he was a wanted individual – wanted out of Whitley County Kentucky on several outstanding warrants.

Ricky Vaughn was charged on a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding a charge of escape third-degree. In addition, this subject was wanted on a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in circuit court regarding a charge of robbery – first-degree and theft by unlawful taking.

In addition, deputies charged this subject with failure to wear seatbelts and giving an officer a false name or address.

Ricky Vaughn was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
