Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Tommy Houston along with deputy Larry Parrott arrested a Barbourville Road resident on Monday afternoon June 1, 2015 at approximately 4:48 P.M.
Arrested was Rajendrakumar Patel age 51 of Barbourville Road., London, KY.
The arrest occurred off Barbourville Road, approximately 5 miles south of London after Deputy Houston was dispatched to a non-injury traffic crash there.
When Deputy Houston arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that this subject had been driving a silver colored Toyota Sienna mini van when he lost control of the vehicle crashing through the front yard of a state trooper's residence.
A mailbox was destroyed, and the suspect vehicle narrowly missed hitting parked vehicles in the driveway.
Deputies determined that this subject was under the influence – this subject stated he had been drinking Johnny Walker bourbon earlier.
This subject was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense and other traffic violations and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
