Fleeing Police, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon & Other Charges - Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy Brandon Broughton arrested Raymond Hensley age 31 of Johnson Rd., London on Sunday afternoon July 5, 2015 at approximately 4:06 PM.

The arrest occurred on Little Arthur Ridge Road, approximately 5 miles north of London after Deputy Houston observed a black ATV operating on Highway 490. The vehicle turned onto Jackson Road and when it's operator observed Deputy Houston, the ATV sped up.

Deputy Houston initiated is emergency equipment and attempted to get the vehicle to stop for him. The vehicle failed to stop and turned onto Little Arthur Ridge Road eventually stopping for Deputy Houston.

This subject was taken into custody following a short scuffle with Deputy Houston.

Deputy Houston located a Hi Point 9 mm handgun in this subject's possession.

Raymond Hensley was charged with speeding; fleeing or evading police – second-degree – motor vehicle; resisting arrest; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; operating an ATV on the roadway; and other traffic violations.

Raymond Hensley was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
