Man survives after allgedly jumping into river from a swinging bridge in Clay County


Manchester, Ky. - MPD is reporting that on July 16, 2015 at around 6:30 P.M. Manchester Police Department Officer Jimmy Smith and Assistant Chief Patrick Robinson were dispatched to a call of an individual that had jumped from the swinging bridge on Bridge Street into the Goose Creek River.

Upon arrival the officers discovered Roger Holt age 38 of Manchester, Ky. barely holding on to the river bank and not responding to them.

EMS personnel that had also responded to the scene went into the river with the police in order to rescue Mr.Holt.

During the rscue Roger Holt became combative with EMS personnel and officers determined that he was under the influence.

Roger Holt refused treatment rom Clay County EMS.

Mr. Holt was taken to the Clay County Detention Center and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Alcohol Intoxication.
