Crash on US-95 near New Meadows claims one

On Sunday, August 23, 2015, at approximately 9:00 A.M., the Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash on US Highway 95 at milepost 158, west of New Meadows.

Kristen Blehm, 39, of Redding, California, was traveling southbound on US-95 in a 2014 Subaru Outback. Jeffrey Church, 44, of Fruitland, was traveling northbound in a 2011 Chevy pickup. Blehm's vehicle struck a deer. The deer then struck Church's vehicle, and went through the passenger side of the windshield.

Church and his back passenger, Hilda Nuttman, 88, of Cottonwood, were transported by ground ambulance to St Luke's McCall Medical Center. Church's front passenger, Gail Church, 67, of Fruitland, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Blehm was not injured. Seatbelts were worn by all parties.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
