DUI involved injury crash in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Kyle Gray arrested Lloyd Saylor age 56 of West Hwy. 221, Bledsoe, Ky on Monday afternoon August 31, 2015 at approximately 2:10 PM.

The arrest occurred on West Cumberland Gap Pkwy., approximately 11 miles south of London after Deputy Gray was dispatched to a two vehicle traffic crash in front of Corbin Walmart.

When Deputy Gray arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, he determined that a blue colored Oldsmobile Cutlass traveling northbound on South Stewart Road had apparently ran a red light at the intersection of South Stewart Rd. and Cumberland Gap Parkway and had struck a Chevrolet car traveling westbound on West Cumberland Gap Pkwy. driven by Jarrett Neal of Harrodsburg, Ky.

Both drivers received possible minor injuries but refused treatment.

Lloyd Saylor, the driver of the blue colored Oldsmobile Cutlass, was determined to be under the influence and was arrested. Lloyd Saylor was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense; disregarding a traffic control device – traffic light and numerous other traffic violations and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

This subject was also charged on a Woodford County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to comply regarding a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense.

Assisting at the scene of the crash was West Knox Volunteer Fire Department.
