KSP Investigates Organized Criminal Activity in Madison County

(Richmond, KY) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, in conjunction with the Kroger loss prevention Organized Crime Branch have been conducting undercover transactions in Richmond over the past month. The investigation continued Tuesday morning as multiple agencies executed search warrants, looking for items that were illegally obtained by three local Madison County businesses.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, four people have been arrested and lodged at the Madison County Detention Center.

Rangassami Rajaram, 35 years old of Richmond, was arrested from the Quick Pick Shell Food Mart on Northgate Drive, and is charged with Engaging in Organized Crime and Know/Fraudulently Use ID Card or Elect Code for Benefits.

Shashi C. Adhikari, 49 years old of Lexington, and Laxman Khadka, 28 years old of Lexington, were arrested at the Easy Stop & Shop Shell on Lexington Road, and are charged with Engaging in Organized Crime.

Binod Adhikari, 43 years old of Lexington, was arrested from the BP Gas Station on Lexington Road, and is charged with Engaging in Organized Crime.

KSP was assisted in the investigation by Kentucky Alcohol Beverage Control, Kentucky Department of Revenue, Kroger Loss Prevention, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Richmond Police Department, and the ATF.
