(Sand Gap, KY) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called just before 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, and notified of a shooting that occurred on Chestnut Flat Road in rural Jackson County.
The initial investigation indicates that an altercation between two men led to a fatal shooting. Jackie Rose, 61 years old of Sand Gap, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner. The events that led up to the shooting are currently under investigation and the alleged shooter has not been charged at this time.
The ongoing death investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Rob Morris. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County EMS, and the Jackson County Coroner.
