DUI and warrant arrest - Laurel County, KY

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested Nicholas Cross age 26 of Hopewell apartments, Corbin, early Monday morning, September 7, 2015, at approximately 12:29 AM.

The arrest occurred on American Greeting Card road, approximately 10 miles south of London after Sgt. Parrott conducted a traffic stop on a red colored Buick Park Avenue that he clocked by radar traveling 16 miles over the speed limit.

Sgt. Parrott learned during the traffic stop that this subject was wanted on felony arrest warrants. In addition, Sgt. Parrott detected the odor of marijuana emitting from this subject and conducted an investigation determining that this subject was under the influence.  A small bag of marijuana was found in this subject's possession.

Nicholas Cross was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; possession of marijuana; speeding 16 miles over the speed limit; and also charged on a Laurel County felony bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding charges of resisting arrest and criminal mischief – third-degree.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
