(LONDON, KY.) – On Monday, October 12, 2015 at approximately 2:35 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London was notified of a shooting that had occurred on KY HWY 149 in the Hector community of Clay County.
Upon arrival, KSP Detective Justin Oliver determined that an altercation occurred between Goldie E. Bowling, 41, and Joe B. Collins, 64, both of Manchester. During the altercation Bowling was shot by Collins, her uncle.
Bowling was transported from the scene to the Manchester Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced deceased by the Clay County Coroner, Danny Finley. An autopsy is to be scheduled with the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
Collins, was arrested at the scene and charged with Murder 1st Degree and lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
Detective Justin Oliver is in charge of the investigation and was assisted at the scene by KSP LT Scott Felder, Troopers from Post 11 and Clay County EMS.
