KSP Charges Clark Co. Man With Crimes Related to Child Sexual Exploitation

Winchester, KY - A Clark County man was arrested on charges related to child sexual exploitation on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at his home.

Christopher L. West, 33, is charged with 104 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and tampering with physical evidence.

West was arrested as the result of an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Detectives with the KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering West was on various social media outlets discussing topics of child sexual exploitation. This included conversations with individuals about the desire to perform sexual acts on children.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at West's residence on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch. Troopers from Post 7-Richmond assisted on scene. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP's Forensic Laboratory for examination.

West was lodged in the Clark County Detention Center. Each charge is a Class-D felony, punishable from one to five years in prison.
