LSO asking for help locating subject in injury hit and run

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Larry Parrott along with Deputy Charlie Johnson investigated a hit and run traffic crash involving a bicyclist which occurred on KY 490, approximately 3 miles north of London on Thursday night, October 15, 2015, at approximately 11:30 PM.

Apparently, Roger Wilson, age 37, of Highway 490, East Bernstadt, was pushing his bicycle eastbound on Highway 490 when a car that came up from behind him struck him throwing him into a ditch line there.

The driver of the car reportedly pulled off approximately 150 feet down the roadway.  A male subject got out of the vehicle, walked back to the crash site, and after seeing there was an injury, the male subject ran back to his vehicle fleeing eastbound on Highway 490.

Deputies located the passenger side mirror from the car glass laying in the roadway near where the bicyclist was struck. The bicyclist was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to London St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of head, arm, leg, and hip injuries.

The vehicle that fled the scene is described as a champagne colored Buick car and the driver is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing shorts and a white or gray T-shirt.
