REPRESENTATIVE TIM COUCH APPLAUDS AWARDING OF FUNDS FOR VETERANS CEMETERY IN EASTERN KENTUCKY

Representative Tim Couch

FRANKFORT, Ky. (October 28, 2015) – Representative Tim Couch, R-Hyden (90th District), today voiced his appreciation and support for the federal government’s decision to allot a $6 million grant toward construction of a new veterans cemetery in Eastern Kentucky.

The Southeast Kentucky Veterans Cemetery will be located in Leslie County within Rep. Couch’s district.

“I want to applaud the U.S. Office of Veterans Affairs for approving the $6 million grant for the Southeast Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Leslie County,” said Rep. Couch. “This is a project that has been in the works for over 12 years, and veterans within a 100 mile radius will have the opportunity to make their final resting place in the hills of Eastern Kentucky.”

The National Cemetery Association will award the grant once design work is completed on the cemetery project, which is scheduled to be done in early 2016. When completed it will be the fifth cemetery specifically for veterans in Kentucky.
