Vehicle Pursuit - Drug Arrest in Rockcastle County



(Mount Vernon, KY) - On Friday October 30th 2015 around 11:30 A.M. Officer Chris McQueen with KSP-Vehicle Enforcement attempted to stop a 1999 Black BMW for speeding near the 62 mile marker on I-75 in Rockcastle County Kentucky.

Upon activation of emergency equipment the BMW accelerated and quickly exited the interstate onto KY461 as he attempted to elude officers driving in a reckless manner and cutting off other motorist.

The chase continued approximately four miles where at one point the driver 23 year old Zachary T. Cobb of London was observed tossing suspected marijuana out the car window. As other officers began assisting in the pursuit Cobb finally pulled over and surrendered to officers.

Cobb was arrested without further incident and lodged in the Rockcastle Co Detention on the following charges: Speeding, Fleeing or Evading Police, Carless Driving, Disregarding Traffic Control Device, Improper Passing, Possession of Marijuana, Improper Signal and Wanton Endangerment.

A passenger 23 year old Spencer Brashear was also arrested from the scene on public intoxication charges

Assisting on Scene: KSP-Vehicle Enforcement Officers Keegan Bray, Mark Scott and David Burton. Officer McQueen continues the investigation.
