Stolen vehicle and drugs arrests on County Farm Road in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Brett Reeves arrested three individuals off County Farm Road, on Wednesday, November 3, 2015 at approximately 3:37 PM.

The arrests occurred after Sgt. Reeves developed information on the whereabouts of a reported stolen vehicle. The vehicle had reportedly been stolen from a business parking lot in London, and investigated by London Police Office Jordan Hopkins.

When Sgt. Reeves arrived at the scene, J & J Auto Mart off County Farm Road, and located the reported stolen vehicle a 1996 Jeep, he initiated an investigation at the scene there learning from the property owner Joshua Desurne that allegedly Benjamin Liford had brought the vehicle there for repairs.

Sgt. Reeves located Benjamin Liford and Jamie Blevins hiding in a closet in the J & J auto mart building. Also located was a .380 caliber semi automatic pistol with the serial number removed, a large amount of US currency, and small baggies containing suspected crystal methamphetamine, and pills.

Arrested was:

Joshua Desurne age 28 of County Farm Rd., London charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; and possession of marijuana.

Benjamin Liford age 30 Of Fariston Rd., London charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000 ; defacing a firearm; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense.

Jamie Blevins age 36 of Court Rd., London charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000; and possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense.

All three subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Assisting on the investigation and arrests were: Laurel sheriff's Lt. Greg Poynter, Sgt. Robbie Grimes, and for London P.D.,Sgt. Danny Robinson, and Officer Jordan Hopkins.
