Injury crash on us 25E in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Gilbert Acciardo investigated a two vehicle injury traffic crash which occurred on East Cumberland Gap Pkwy., approximately 11 miles south of London on Thursday morning November 5, 2015 at approximately 8:40 A.M.

The investigating deputy reports that apparently a white colored Kia Sorento pulled out from Oak Ridge Church road in front of the path of a white colored Dodge Durango that was traveling northbound on East Cumberland Gap Pkwy. The Kia Sorento struck the Dodge Durango.

The driver of the Kia Sorento was identified as:

Martha Johnson age 71 of Corbin, KY – transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Baptist Health Hospital for treatment of head injuries – this driver had to be mechanically extricated from her vehicle by West Knox Volunteer Fire department.

The driver of the white colored Dodge Durango was identified as:

Angela Foley age 32 of Corbin, KY – transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Baptist Health Hospital with shoulder and neck injuries.

Assisting at the scene of the crash was Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County and West Knox Volunteer Fire department.
