Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Detective Kevin Berry arrested 4 individuals early Tuesday morning, November 17, 2015, between 2:19 AM and 3:37 AM after investigating a burglary of an out building on Jackson Fariston Road, approximately 3 miles south of London.

The investigating detective reports that Sgt. Brett Reeves and Sgt. Phil Barnard responded to the burglary of an out building on Jackson Fariston Road learning that rods and reels, baits, tools, depth finders and other items had been stolen after forced entry into a metal building.

As deputies and a constable canvased the area and conducted further investigation, suspects were developed and stolen property was found behind a residence and in a barn off of Jackson Fariston Road in the same vicinity of where the burglary had occurred.

While this subject was being processed at the Laurel County Sheriff's Office and when he found out that his girlfriend was being charged, this subject became combative with deputies attempting to fight deputies and following a brief struggle was physically detained.

Also arrested was Deseray Rogers, age 18, of Jackson Fariston Road, London, charged with receiving stolen property; and tampering with physical evidence-– this subject stated she knew that items brought to her house by Marty Wagers were stolen items.

The third subject arrested was Jeannie Rogers, age 40, of Jackson Fariston Road, London, charged with receiving stolen property; and tampering with physical evidence – this subject stated that Marty Wagers had brought items to her home and also had taken the items to a barn across the road.

Marty Wagers had previously lived at the residence occupied by Deseray Rogers, Jeannie Rogers, and Lloyd Burkhart, but had recently began living at an address in Clay County.

Detective Kevin Berry contacted Clay County Sheriff's office for assistance in locating Marty Wagers and at approximately 2:19 AM, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Paul Michael Whitehead located Marty Wagers off of Chadwell Hollow Rd., Manchester, and following an investigation by Sheriff's deputies, this subject was taken into custody and charged with burglary – third-degree; criminal mischief – second degree; theft by unlawful taking; tampering with physical evidence; falsely reporting an incident; criminal trespassing – second degree; assault – third-degree – police officer is victim; and resisting arrest – this subject attempted to mislead investigating deputies regarding the burglary investigation they were conducting.

Through investigation, Detective Berry learned that apparently, a large amount of the stolen property from the burglary had been taken to Clay County and distributed for pills and money. Stolen property from the burglary was recovered behind the residence occupied by Deseray Rogers, Jeannie Rogers and Lloyd Burkhart, and also stolen property was found in a barn across from the residence.
