DUI related injury traffic crash on KY 363 in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Charlie Johnson along with Deputy Rick Cloyd investigated a two vehicle injury traffic crash which occurred on KY 363, approximately 8 miles south of London on Wednesday afternoon, November 18, 2015, at approximately 3:17 PM.

The investigating deputies report that apparently, a white colored Pontiac Sunfire was traveling south on Highway 363, rounded a curve and lost control of the vehicle on a rain slick highway crossing the center line and striking a red colored Honda FIT.

This collision caused both vehicles to crash into a fence on the side of the roadway. The driver of the white Pontiac Sunfire was identified as Rachel Kinnart, age 19, of 7th Street, Corbin – injured and transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Baptist Healthcare Hospital, Corbin.

The driver of the red colored Honda FIT was identified as David Huff, age 33, of Norwood Dr., Gray, KY – no injuries reported – this subject was determined to be under the influence and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence – first offense.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Kentucky parole violation warrant charging absconding parole supervision; failure to report to parole officer as directed; and failure to comply with treatment program for substance abuse.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

A passenger in the red Honda FIT was identified as Winslow Hollin, age 34, of Gray, KY – transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Corbin Baptist Healthcare Hospital for treatment of injuries.
