Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested Debra Smith age 41 of Greendale lane, Corbin on Friday evening November 27, 2015 at approximately 6:25 PM.
The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject.
When Deputy Cloyd arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that this subject had allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for $92.35 in merchandise.
In addition, while being interviewed, this subject gave false information using her sister's information for the arrest report.
Debra Smith was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking – shoplifting; giving officer false name or address; theft of identity of another without consent and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
